There’s plenty of time to learn to learn to surf without one. But starting out, it’s important to be respectful of other surfers and ensure you don’t lose your board, even if it is a soft top.
As a rule of thumb, theshorter your surfboard, the shorter your leash.Our expertsrecommendbuying a leash up to1′ longer than the size of your board–so for a 6′ soft top surfboard, we suggest a 6-7′ leash.
